I mentioned in my previous post the fear of death that my son has developed ever since my brother in law died from cancer few months ago. He oftentimes told us that he doesn't want us to die which is very sad to hear. He is only 5 years old and he has this anxiety of the people around him dying. Cancer is a dominant illness in my husband's side of the family. His Mom, some Aunts, and his brother died of the killer C. It was really a hard bomb for all of us because the doctors assured the family that my brother in law will be alright after the surgery
On the lighter note, the unfortunate loss of a family member became an eye opener to my kids to take care of their health. It made them more aware about the fact of the cancer and the things that they can and need to do to avoid it. Every now and then, my husband and I would talk about his brother and he still can't believe how fast the illness took him away from us. You really never knew what will happen to you because one day you are fine and the next day, you are sicker than a dog. The wisest thing to do is to keep fit and get checked up every often so that you know what is happening with your health and your body.
My husband is is so conscious about his health so he always have himself check by the doctor to make sure that he is not developing any serious ailment. He is aware that there are treatment alternative at HIFU for prostate cancer nowadays. But even so, he is always worried of finding out that one day he has the killer disease that is always taking toll on his family. For now, prayer is what I do all the time.
