Anahaw Leaves

My family lives in Southern part of Luzon in the Philippines where the famous whale sharks can be found, in Donsol Sorsogon. My mother wants to live there because she was born and raised in Donsol, she find it very peaceful stay where she grew up. Most of the houses there uses Anahaw leaves for the roofing, only few uses the galvanized iron corrugated ones. Anahaw leaves makes the inside of the house more cooler compared to having a G.I.corr roof. Here are some snapshots of the anahaw leaves that hubby took when I introduced him to this plant. My father planted this before he died.

I also found out that aside from fan (product i know out of anahaw) there is still product that you can make out of this leaf. I also would like to add that when I was in grade school we don't have lunch boxes so we were using the baby anahaw leaves to put our foods in, it's our alternative for banana leaves. You might not believe it but its true..

Custom Skateboard

I was marveling the other night because my husband has a lot of plans for our children especially for our son. I guess having a son to a father's point of view is different from the mom's. I think that most of the Dads are very proud when they have a son. He was telling me all of his plans about teaching EJ different sports such as softball, football and skateboard. My husband said that skateboarding is one of his favorite past time when he was a kid. He is planning to buy EJ a custom skateboard if he sees interest in him. hot cars of 2009

When I was still living in the Philippines, my only means of transportation in traveling was the public vehicles such as bus, van, tricycle, and jeepneys. The common one was the jeepneys which served as my means of going to and from work. You might find it weird but I missed riding the jeepney everyday, it is convenient and cheaper compared to having your own car. When I finally moved in to the United States, my husband owned a Mercedes Benz but it wasn't automatic so we traded it with the Honda accord, the one that we have right now. My husband was checking out the reviews for the new models of cars this year like the pontiac solstice, G8, 2009 Torrent, G5, and other Pontiac models for the previous years. Of all the Pontiac models for this year, I think I like the solstice the best because it is sporty and hip.

The over all rating for the hyundai elantra is good. I like the fact that its backseat is spacious enough for adults and it possesses good qualities too, the only side down of it is the exterior styling, which according to the experts from Car Connection is "unexciting." The rating they gave for the chevrolet impala is a little bit low compared to the Hyundai Elantra but still good. The only thing that concern me is that it has uncomfortable seats during long trips which is not good especially with family with kids like us. My husband love Toyota and Honda cars very much and he was looking at the toyota yaris but he was disappointed that it does not posses good rating from the experts who experience riding in it. It is good that its inexpensive but the fact that its front seat are small, got him turned off with this model. Birth Announcement

When I was pregnant with our first child, I was very busy doing my immigration papers. I was seven months pregnant when I migrated to the mighty USA. My sister-in-law and her daughter Jen arranged a baby shower for us which gave us a lot of things that we needed for the baby such as cribs, baby clothes, bedding and other stuff. Jen also ordered some birth announcements online after i gave birth and we sent out to our relatives and friends. My sister Lyn is three months pregnant right now so I sent her all the baby stuff and maternity clothes that I don't need anymore. With the economic situation that we have nowadays, my husband I decided to have just two children to raise. We would be able to prepare for their future if we only have two. But anyhow, I know few blogger friends who are pregnant right now and I can imagine how excited they are especially to our friends in Germany who will be a first time parents. We brought EJ to the Hospital

When we came back from the Philippines, my husband kids got diarrhea. I think it was from the mango shake that they had in legazpi the day prior to our flight. My daughter was okay now and so my husband but our son is taking it a little bit hard. He is fevered since last night so we brought him to the hospital this morning. He is still fevered until now but did not go (diarr..) so far. That's the reason why, I haven't been able to visit you guys, I apologize. Thank you for your continuous visits. What I like about our children when they get sick is that they try their very best to stay active even if they don't feel good.
